Lutein is an antioxidant carotenoid found in large concentrations in the eye. Since the body cannot make lutein, it must be obtained from the diet or supplements. Research shows that lutein intake correlates directly to the amount of lutein found in the macula of the eye. Lutein in the macula protects the eye by blocking harmful blue light rays. Studies suggest a link between adequate lutein levels in the body and less risk of eye disease, especially as we age.

Our lutein softgels are encapsulated in a clear gelatin softgel and may show slight variation in color due to the cartenoid pigments that naturally occur.
