Alpha Lipoic Acid The universal antioxidant N-Acetyl Cysteine 200 mg Alpha Lipoic Acid 250 mg N-Acetyl Cysteine

ALA + NAC delivers a special blend of two powerful and related antioxidants, Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) and N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC). For additional protection against free radical damage, we include ALA’s related molecule, NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine), which is also a powerful antioxidant and an essential building block in the creation of glutathione peroxidase, perhaps the body’s most powerful antioxidant.

ALA has the rare ability to exist in either water- or oil-based environments, which enables ALA to deliver its powerful antioxidant benefits virtually anywhere in the body. This universal solubility results in ALA being commonly referred to as the Universal Antioxidant and allows it to be particularly effective in providing its antioxidant benefits to the cells of our nervous system and brain where its molecular structure permits it to cross the blood-brain barrier. It also protects the vital tissues and structures of the cardiovascular and immune systems, the liver, kidneys and lungs. ALA’s antioxidant capacity also helps to “recharge” and extend the life of other antioxidants in the body, such as vitamins C and E, coenzyme Q-10 and glutathione. Unfortunately, the body makes and maintains very low concentrations of ALA and supplementation can become necessary as a result of the normal changes that accompany aging, stress, illness and even exercise. The human body relies on its own extremely effective internal antioxidant systems for protection, and ALA and NAC offer both internal and external antioxidant support to combat the daily onslaught of damaging free radicals. No modern antioxidant regimen is complete without the addition of the Universal Antioxidant (ALA) and NAC.
