Vitamin C is a water soluble nutrient most recognized for its vital role in supporting the immune system, and is also necessary for the production of collagen (a structural protein in connective tissue) important for skin, bone and joint health. Vitamin C supports healthy amino acid metabolism, neurotransmitter synthesis and utilization of many nutrients, such as iron and folic acid. It is also a highly effective antioxidant involved in over three hundred metabolic functions, helping maintain healthy tissues by neutralizing free radicals.
