Shiitake mycelia (Lentinus edodes (Berk.) Singer) or lentinus edodes mycelia is the immature growing stage of the shiitake lifecycle. It is rich in carbohydrates, protein, vitamins and minerals. The polysaccharide-protein complex, a new peptidomannan (KS-2), and a water-solublized lignin derivative (EPS-3) are key constituents of the extract. This 28:1 extract is standardized to contain 3.2% KS-2 peptidomannan.
