Recent research highlights the role pomegranates play in cardiovascular and general cellular health. Pomegranates, like many berries, contain a polyphenol called ellagic acid, which functions primarily as an antioxidant. In addition, a plant compound termed "punicosides" is found exclusively in pomegranates - which means you can't get them by eating any other fruit. Punicosides were shown to be significantly more powerful an antioxidant than ellagic acid alone. Our Pomegranate Extract contains high standardized amount of both of these beneficial compounds, including 738 ORAC units per capsule.
